of ancestors and roots

just some autumn musings about being a human being and wondering what your place is in the grander scheme of things. have been reading various books written during the 19th century and the turn of the last- on iroquois, new york state history, and walden pond. also had a family meeting with nuclear family intact- and as always, it made me think and feel and think and feel. i have been taking a peek into who i am and where i came from and parts of me that resemble my parents and my other ancestors on both sides and it has given me much to think about. still not coherent enough to do anything other than think and feel and think and feel....

Hallo Betmo,

Interesting subject, I mean to find out your place on this planet.

I don't think this will be of any value to you but my opinion on this is that we are here for no special purpose. Like the trees, the little and big animals, everything laying and standing around.

But considering that you can move and think, it is up to you to give it the purpose you like. If you wish to care solely for your hubby or on the contrary become Mother Theresa II, do as you like and as you can (yes, we can!).

And in the end, you will die like everybody else and be forgotten after a short time.

ah georg- i do agree. human beings are simply mammals on the planet as many other species of animals are. the other mammals don't think in the same way we do- but they too think, feel, communicate and problem solve. i find that it is human arrogance that is to blame for us thinking we are so much better :) pardon me for brevity but i have a wicked head cold and my head hurts and my sinuses hurt and i am miserable.
